Les Deux Alpes has just taken a huge leap forward in lift technology with the launch of the brand new Jandri 3S gondola lift - and it's a game-changer for skiers and snowboarders heading to this iconic French resort.

What Is the Jandri 3S?

Replacing the outdated Jandri Express, the new Jandri 3S lift is a state-of-the-art tri-cable gondola that connects the resort centre to the glacier at 3,200 metres in record time. The “3S” stands for “three cables”, offering greater speed, stability, and capacity – even in strong winds.

This major upgrade cuts the journey time to the glacier from around 40 minutes to just 17 minutes, significantly reducing waiting times and allowing skiers to spend more time on the slopes and less time in queues.

When is the Jandri 3S Open?

The lift officially opens to the public on 30 November 2024, right in time for the 2024/25 winter season. It will be celebrated with a grand inauguration in January 2025, featuring a torchlit descent, fireworks, and a spectacular drone light show.

Why It’s a Big Deal for Skiers

The Jandri 3S is more than just a new lift - it’s a complete transformation in how visitors access the high-altitude terrain in Les Deux Alpes. Here’s why it matters:

• Faster glacier access: Reach the high-altitude slopes quicker than ever before.

• Improved reliability: The tri-cable system can operate in harsher weather, meaning fewer closures and more consistent access.

• Greater capacity: More skiers moved more efficiently - perfect for peak weeks.

• Eco-friendlier: The lift uses energy efficient systems and helps reduce congestion in the resort.

Planning Your Trip to Les Deux Alpes

If you're planning a ski holiday to Les Deux Alpes, the new Jandri 3S lift is a huge bonus. Whether you're a seasoned skier heading for the glacier or a beginner looking for seamless access to a variety of runs, this lift improves the entire resort experience.
