Not sure where to stay in Val Thorens? We’ve rounded up the best accommodation options to help you find your perfect alpine base.

Val Thorens is, without a doubt, my all time favourite ski resort. It’s as high as it gets - sitting at 2300 metres - which means snow is pretty much guaranteed all season long. Add in legendary après spots like 360 and Folie Douce, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate mix of epic skiing and unforgettable parties. The other main thing left to get right? Where you’re going to crash and eat after a big day on the mountain. That’s where this guide comes in - to help you find the perfect place to stay in Val Thorens.

Where to Stay in Val Thorens - Our Top Picks

If you’re planning a trip to Val Thorens and wondering where to stay, we’ve done the legwork for you. Here’s a round up of our favourite accommodation options - whether you're after spa time, slope side access, great food, or a bit of five star luxury.

1. Les Balcons de Val Thorens Our Most Popular Pick ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s easy to see why this one is a favourite. Les Balcons de Val Thorens combines large apartments with fantastic facilities - a wellness area with an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and stream room, plus an on-site restaurant that serves up a seriously good, hearty Savoyard fare. It’s a winner for families, groups, and pretty much anyone who likes lovely food and some post ski relaxation.

Why stay here?

  • On the piste - ski in (red run) / ski out (blue run)
  • Swimming pool, and wellness facilities
  • Cosy apartments with balconies (most with views)
  • On-site restaurant with fabulous food
  • Great for families and larger groups

2.  Village Montana Residences - Perfect for Families & Ski School Access ⭐⭐⭐⭐

(Premier, Valbel & Soleil)

The Village Montana collection offers high standard accommodation in a superb location - next to the slopes and the ski school meeting points. We can package these stylish residences with an excellent dining option at the fantastic La Grange restaurant. With a warm alpine feel, and easy access to everything you need, the various Village Montana residences offer an ideal base.

Why stay here?

  • Next to the slopes
  • Super convenient for the slopes and ski school
  • High standard across all buildings
  • Option to add half board at La Grange restaurant
  • Comfortable and well equipped apartments
  • Ideal for families and first timers

3.  Le Cheval Blanc – Great Value in a Prime Location ⭐⭐⭐

Le Cheval Blanc is a gem for those looking to stay close to the slopes without blowing the budget. It’s right by the piste - close to ski lifts, ski school, and the centre of resort. We can bundle in a great half board option at La Grange restaurant to keep things easy.

Why stay here?

  • Excellent location next to the slopes + ski school meeting points
  • One of the best value options in Val Thorens
  • Half board option available
  • Ideal for the budget conscious and families.

4.  Chalet Altitude - Alpine Charm Meets 5★ Comfort ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Looking for a cosy yet luxurious retreat? Chalet Altitude is a standout 5 star residence. With just 20 apartments, this is a cosy, peaceful retreat in the Les Balcons area – but still only 150m from the slopes. Apartments are well equipped with wood burning fireplaces, and there’s access to a pool and sauna. You can also opt for a half board package at the brilliant nearby L’Auberge restaurant.

Why stay here?

• 150m from the slopes

• Well equipped cosy apartments

• Pool and sauna access

• Optional half board package

5.  Les Balcons Platinum – Exclusive 5★ Comfort ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For a top end stay in Val Thorens, the Platinum block at Les Balcons offers luxurious apartments with high end interiors, private saunas (in the larger apartments), and access to spa facilities. It’s the elevated version of our most popular residence - more space, more comfort, and even better views.

Why stay here?

  • Premium five star apartments
  • Private saunas in select apartments
  • Access to all of Les Balcons' facilities
  • On-site restaurant with great food
