My Favourite Songs to Snowboard To. Turn it up and have yourself a blast.

Whether you're cruising a wide blue, straight-lining, or just vibing on a chairlift with the sun on your face - the right song can solidify a memory quite like nothing else. Years later, just a few notes can take you straight back to the mountain, where life is at its best.

Some of these tracks bring back memories of après scenes at Cocorico, others are just too good not to ride to. Expect indie anthems, disco grooves and the kind of tunes that make you want to ride harder - or dance in your boots.

Each to their own, of course, but these are mine and in no particular order, just bangers. So, stick in the earbuds, press play, and drop in…

1. Blue Monday – New Order 

This one just makes me want to bob my arms up and down like some kind of synth-fuelled snow robot.

2. Thunderstruck – AC/DC

That opening riff instantly drops me back at Cocorico in Val D, surrounded by good mates under blue skies, and just the right amount of buzz.

3. I Wanna Be Your Lover – Prince

Funky and impossible not to jiggle too! A throwback to an awkward workout with Mr Motivator at a ski festival we don’t work with so I won't name drop here 😊

4. Lost in Music (Dimitri from Paris Remix) – Sister Sledge

Classic disco remixed with a groove that gives you that extra something - guaranteed to loosen up your hips and your turns.

5. Kokomo – The Beach Boys

Sure you aren’t on a beach, but on a perfect bluebird day, this one is pure holiday vibes.

6. Rocks – Primal Scream

Raw energy and rock ‘n’ roll grit that’ll push you to go just that little bit faster - it will get you pumped.

7. Lust for Life – Iggy Pop

Iconic, this track is all about living for the moment. Which you are in this moment.

8. Song 2 – Blur

That iconic “woo-hoo!” is basically the soundtrack to pure, unfiltered joy. Quick, punchy, and so much fun as you rip down the piste.

9. I Love You – Fontaines D.C.

I love you, I love this, I love it right here, right now. The lyrics are pretty dark, but I love flying down the mountain to it.

10. 19-2000 (Soulchild Remix) – Gorillaz

A laid-back yet funky remix to wind down and simply enjoy the ride. Cruise and take in the views....delightful.

Music and mountains go hand in (glove covered) hand. The right track can turn a good run into a great one - setting the rhythm for your turns or locking in a memory for years to come. This is my personal snowboarding soundtrack: a mix of feel-good bops, indie anthems, and adrenaline boosting bangers that hit just right when there’s snow and board underfoot and sun overhead.
