A pretty Pyrenees resort with a good selection of high-quality accommodation, Soldeu boasts traditional charm and makes for a relaxing ski or snowboarding holiday. With a friendly atmosphere it's popular with couples, families and bigger groups alike. While much more laid back than it's lively neighbour, Pas de la Casa, Soldeu still offers a selection of quality bars and restaurants as well as pools and spas in some of the 4* and 5* hotels. There are picturesque tree-lined runs and the large linked area of Grandvalira is on your doorstep with 210km to explore. With plenty of options for the intermediate skier a number of wide, gently sloping runs make it great for beginners too.

Beginners and families -  An impressive ski school and easy nursery slopes make Soldeu a great spot for those learning to ski. There's a nursery for children aged 2-4 years and a snow garden for those aged 3-6.

Intermediate - Most of the runs around Soldeu are blue or red making it ideal for intermediate skiers.

Advanced - Explore the six valleys of the Grandvalira area, enjoy off piste in Grau Roig and try the bumpy black runs bringing you back into resort.

Snowboarding - The Soldeu–El Tarter area is the largest in the Grandvalira and there are snowboard schools available. There are well-groomed beginner slopes, a large area of not too challenging intermediate runs, snow boarding parks, a half pipe, two boardercross tracks and a few off-piste routes.

Soldeu is a great resort for people looking for a little bit of luxury on a budget. If you are tired of the cramped dated studios that many of the French resorts provide, Soldeu is the resort for you. There is a good selection of 4 and 5 star hotels that are very reasonably priced when compared to the French equivalents. Best sellers last season included the Sport Hotel, The Himalaia Soldeu and Hotel Piolets. Another benefit of the accommodation in Soldeu and infact all the Andorran resorts is that to stay bed and breakfast or half board is very cost effective, it is surprising that to add on meals for the week does not affect the room rate hugely.

There are plenty of options in Soldeu when the sun goes down with numerous bars, restaurants and a couple of nightclubs. The Sport Wellness spa is a great place to unwind and relax those aching muscles or try something more active such as tobogganing, snow mobiling or dog sledging. The leisure centre in nearby Canillo has a swimming pool, ice rink, tennis and squash courts.
